Cor Veterinary Services (Cor Vet) is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced equine veterinarian who has either completed an internship or possesses equivalent experience in clinical equine practice to become part of our team.
The ideal candidate is a hard working, honest professional with outstanding communication abilities and a strong eagerness to contribute to a team environment. They will be capable of routine equine medicine with an interest in sports medicine and western performance horses. Capable of traveling and performing in clinic days.
About Cor Vet Services: The practice is located in a rural setting East of Strathmore, Alberta. Our clientele is mainly western performance horses and is heavily sports medicine based. We have a haul in facility and will also offer limited travel days to larger facilities/barns or arenas. We limit individual horse farm calls to maximize our veterinarian's efficiency. There is tremendous opportunity to advance any area of equine veterinary medicine that the applicant wishes. However, the successful candidate could immediately step into a strong sports medicine clientele if they have the interest. All Veterinarians have a technician, fully stocked vehicle including digital xray, ultrasound, shockwave, dental equipment etc. Shared equipment within the clinic include 1.5 and 3ml gastroscope/endoscope, Sound SMART RLT class 4 Laser, Platelet rich plasma, IRAP Proease, Prostride/Centrate systems.
Our main clientele consists of cutting, reining, rodeo and western show horses, with a very limited mix of hunter jumper/dressage. Dr. Corbiell, our senior veterinarian is a Director on the AAEP Board, and is an active ISELP member as well.
Our clientele travels and hauls from great distances which helps limit the after hours emergency calls and keeps them to an extreme minimum. We have low after hours calls and have selected for key easy to work for clients.
We provide a flexible workweek schedule, a very competitive salary with a bonus structure and generous after-hours compensation, in-depth mentorship as extensive as required and requested. Local housing and horse board is available and can be discussed.
About the Area:
Cor Vet Services Clinic is situated 50 min East of Calgary, in a rural country setting. It is 1 hour from the Calgary International Airport, 2 hours from Nakiska Ski hill and 2.5 hours from Banff Alberta.
Applicants must be in completion of good standing of DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university (or completed NEB accreditation for non-accredited universities) and eligible for licensure in the province of Alberta.
