Associate VeterinarianPosition Available Middlebury Animal Clinic, in scenic Middlebury Indiana, is looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian. We are a privately-owned, modern practice with a cozy small-town atmosphere focusing primarily on dogs and cats. Middlebury is 35 miles east of South Bend/Notre Dame and 165 miles north of Indianapolis. Middlebury is well known for its excellent public-school system, along with tourism, farming, and manufacturing opportunities. The clinic is minutes from the beautiful Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, which is a paved nature path for walking and biking. At the clinic we have a compassionate, energetic and driven team that provides our patients and clients with the best care and experience possible at every visit. The ideal candidate would be energetic, personable, fun, and self-motivated with a desire to continuously learn.
The clinic:
Our doctor to staff ratio is 1:4 allowing you to be a doctor and provide the best care possible to both our patients and clients. We currently have three full-time DVM’s, five R.V.T.’s, three Vet Assistants, an Office Manager, four client care specialists (reception), and a custodian. One DVM is certified in Acupuncture, and one is a CCRP.
Our hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:30pm. There are NO night or weekend emergencies, and we are closed all major holidays. We do not offer boarding or grooming services. There are several local emergency clinics in the area that do an excellent job with our after-hours patient care allowing us to recharge our batteries and enjoy life outside of work.
We have 5 exam rooms, a well-stocked pharmacy, a large open treatment area, and a surgical suite with heated table. We run EMR Cornerstone software on our 12 computer workstations and are as “paperless” as possible. We have the latest in-house Chem/CBC, snap readers and Sedivue machines from Idexx including digital radiography. Additionally, we have digital ultrasound, IV fluid pumps and warmers, tonopen, iM3 dental unit and dental radiography, and blood pressure/O2/HR/temperature monitors attached to each of our anesthetic machines. We implement Fear Free practices to reduce the stress and anxiety of our patients and many of our technicians and doctors are fear free certified. We have a drive-thru window for prescription pick-ups, food pick-ups and drop-off/surgery pick-ups.
In 2020, we added an attached sister practice that is a fully functioning Canine Rehabilitation Center. Modalities include two Companion Animal Health Class IV lasers, stance analyzer, land treadmill, Digatherm thermal imaging camera, Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, H2O Underwater treadmill, NMES, PEMF therapy and acupuncture.
