Do you love making a difference in the quality of life for pets and their families? Would you enjoy living in a place with a small-town feel while being only 20 miles from downtown Atlanta? Combine the two by becoming our next full or part-time associate at Douglas Oaks Animal Hospital.
At Douglas Oaks Animal Hospital our goal is to provide 5-star care for our patients and clients. Read our reviews to see what our clients have to say about us. We have the best clients in the region who appreciate our efforts. We take the time to communicate with clients, helping them make the best decisions about their pet’s healthcare. We use low-stress methods when working with our patients. Their physical and emotional comfort is a priority for us. We believe in the importance of preventive medicine, using all of our diagnostic tools and training to help our patients be happy, healthy, and pain-free because they are family members too. We work closely with local specialists, referring our patients when that is what is best for them.
We are looking for an associate who enjoys working with pets and their families while providing a high level of care. We have a place on our team for someone with excellent communication skills, who likes being part of a team, and who shares our dedication to patient well-being. We are big fans of work/life balance! We don't keep patients overnight or require our doctors to be on-call. We have a diverse daily case load which is great for new grads looking to hone their skills and for seasoned veterinarians as well.
What you will be doing:
Working with clients and their pets as an out-patient veterinarian.
Performing thorough physical exams and using the diagnostics available to us. We currently see dogs and cats.
Using your communication skills to keep clients up-to-date and helping them to choose the best care for their pets.
Using your diagnostic and treatment skills to work up and care for our patients. We stay up-to-date on the latest diagnostic and treatment tools.
Performing elective and non-elective surgical and dental procedures. We make use of local surgical specialists when this is in the patient’s best interest. (Performing surgery is not a requirement for this position)
Maintaining complete medical records in Cornerstone software.
Working with a few select rescue groups and the local shelter.
Helping to train staff on healthcare-related topics and working with hospital management to help maintain a high standard of care.
Pursuing special areas of interest, such as special types of pets, medicine, or surgery. We are willing to help an associate pursue any special areas of interest they might have.
Your compensation as part of our team:
A competitive base salary with production-based bonuses
Medical insurance
Continuing Education
Membership Dues and Licenses
Generous Paid Time Off
Uniforms
Personal Pet Discounts--because you probably have at least one four-legged family member running around your home!
