Austin, Texas is loving the veterinary care we’re providing! Because of this, we’re growing and looking for friendly, pet-loving humans, to join our team of amazing Veterinarians. As a Veterinarian on our team, you’ll be responsible for delivering excellent concierge-style customer care, tailored patient care, and ethical and effective medical and surgical interventions. You will have a talented support staff, a strong management team, and both eastern and western resources available to you.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Delivering superb customer service for our clients and tailored, ethical care for their pets
Managing routine, sick, and emergency visits
Performing elective, semi-elective, and emergency procedures (as comfort allows)
Performing dental prophylaxis, digital dental radiology, and extractions (as comfort allows)
Entering and updating patient records (we’re cloud-based!)
Building treatment plans, surgical plans, hospitalization plans, and/or transfer plans
Providing preventative, diagnostic, medical, and surgical recommendations, and client education
Completing drug calculations, drug administration, prescriptions, and refill requests
Overseeing in-house and outbound diagnostics and follow-up calls
Performing digital radiology, bandaging, and immobilization
Creating estimates for clients and ensuring all charges for your cases are correct
Leading your support staff to veterinary excellence through respect, kindness, and education
Job Requirements:
DVM or VMD, State Veterinary Board, and DEA Registration
2+ years of experience as a companion animal veterinarian
Must be a leader, a critical thinker, a team player, and a confident veterinarian
Must be a bright, friendly, and strong communicator in order to effectively communicate with clients, visitors, and hospital staff (it’s okay if you talk to the animals, too!)
Must be able to work quickly on a computer
Must have a pleasant presence on the phone and excellent phone etiquette
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and move freely for extended periods of time (90-minute breaks!)
Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
It would be nice if you have:
5+ years of overall work experience in the veterinary industry
Emergency or specialty experience
An area of great interest or expertise in the veterinary industry
Pets of your own (empathy vs. sympathy)
MS Office, G Suite, and speed-typing skills (we like tech-savvy people!)
