We are seeking a full time or part time urgent care veterinarian who is friendly, compassionate, and loves working with all of our animal friends, as well as their owners. Our practice is steadily growing and we also are seeking to add a veterinarian that would see scheduled appointments. Chesdin Animal Hospital has provided high-quality veterinary care and friendly client service since 1984, and we are looking for doctors who can help us carry on this tradition.
Our guiding principle – to provide the majority of a pet’s health care needs “under one roof” – has led Chesdin Animal Hospital to continue its investment in good people, training, and up-to-date equipment. As a result, we are able to confidently treat a wider range of medical and surgical cases than most general practices. This ability to treat challenging cases in-house has earned Chesdin Animal Hospital a large base of loyal clients who want a high standard of care for their pets, in a friendly family practice they trust. In addition, we have onsite boarding and grooming.
Located 30 miles south of Richmond, Virginia, our predominately small animal hospital is a very progressive, community-oriented practice. We have a new ultrasound, new K-laser, Cryo-Probe unit, new digital x-ray and Idexx in-house laboratory testing. Our staff members are skilled, dedicated, and caring, and our talented team of doctors brings all of their experience and resources to provide medical and surgical treatment to our patients.
Chesdin Animal Hospital offers a competitive salary plus other benefits, such as: health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), vacation/sick time, continuing education allowance, sign on bonus, paid annual licensing fees, DEA compensation and employee pet discounts. Experience preferred, but we would welcome a new graduate. Mentorship available for expanding soft tissue and orthopedics surgical skills and in the treatment of exotics, small farm animals and pocket pets. Interested candidates can send their resume to [email protected] or contact Amy Grenoble directly at (804) 732-6420.
Requirements for a Veterinarian position at Chesdin Animal Hospital are:
Licensed by the Virginia State Veterinary Board prior to the start date
Provide the highest quality of care to every patient by applying his/her education, expertise and unique and varied experiences in the practice of veterinary medicine.
Perform spay and neuters and dental procedures
Excellent communication skills with our pet owners and staff
Maintain thorough and accurate patient records and documentation
Support our practice and our community with compassionate and ethical practice of veterinary medicine
Here at Chesdin Animal Hospital, we see predominately small animals, but in addition to our canine and feline friends we do see a variety of other species including small farm animals, horses for routine care, exotics, and yes, even the occasional turkey or goldfish. Providing the very best care for all of our wonderful patients is what we love about our practice.
