Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital is accepting applications for a client-oriented, team-oriented, enthusiastic Equine Ambulatory Veterinarian.
Job Overview: Duties include approximately 85% Equine (focus on preventative and geriatric care) and 15% small ruminants and camelids. Work will include farm calls, haul-in facility appointments. Ambulatory emergency coverage on a shared rotation basis.
Job Requirements: Our ambulatory caseload includes but is not limited to equine routine care (vaccines, dentistry, and preventive medicine), reproductive services, and lameness workup. We also see small ruminants and camelids on a routine and emergent basis. The ideal candidate would have an interest in both preventative and geriatric equine medicine, comfort with and interest in small ruminant medicine, and be willing to assist in reproduction medicine as needed. They should be eager to work in a team environment and have a willingness to connect and build relationships with their clients
Our ambulatory practice consists of two full-time veterinarians and is backed up by our 24-hour equine referral hospital with two Board-Certified surgeons and one Board-Certified Large Animal Internist. Each year our practice hires 2-3 veterinary interns that rotate through the ambulatory service. A desire and willingness to teach and mentor interns is a component of the position. We are looking for a motivated individual to service and connect with our clientele and maintain and grow the practice.
