Mid-Valley Veterinary Hospital in Orland, CA, is seeking a mixed-animal (option is available for just a small or just a food animal emphasis) associate veterinarian to join our team of compassionate, experienced professionals who enjoy working in a friendly, caring, family atmosphere. We offer a personalized approach to veterinary medicine and are looking to hire an associate veterinarian who will deliver the finest veterinary care to our valued clients.
The clinic is in the town of Orland, CA. Located in Northern California about 90 minutes north of Sacramento and about 20 minutes west of Chico, we are near wineries, lakes, mountains (National Parks and National Forests) and a university town.

We have a good mentoring program while still allowing you to practice and grow as a doctor without constantly watching over your shoulder. The candidate would split large animal on-call duties equally with the other full-time veterinarians. We do not see after-hours small animal emergencies. Vets work four and a half-day weeks. The salary is competitive with a base salary plus production incentives monthly. Incentives are also paid for emergency calls. Fringe benefits include health insurance, dental and vision, disability insurance, SIMPLE IRA, continuing education allowance, paid vacation, paid sick/personal days, dues paid for AVMA, CVMA and other veterinary organizations.
The candidate will receive a fully stocked veterinary truck with a Bowie vet box to be used for daily commute and on routine herd checks and after-hours emergencies. The clinic includes a large animal haul-in facility, with a squeeze chute and tilt table.
The clinic’s diagnostic capabilities include in-house IDEXX machines, Zoetis Imagyst, digital x-rays, ultrasound, digital dental x-rays, Dental-aire machine, Class IV laser therapy unit, in-house milk plating, and bacteriology.
We utilize Covetrus Pulse as our practice management software which is cloud-based, allowing you to access your schedule and complete your electronic medical records from anywhere.
The ideal candidate should possess a broad knowledge and skill set in large and small animal medicine and surgery. Must live within 30 minutes of practice location to handle large animal emergency calls. Licensed to practice in California.
