Meddleton Equine Clinic is looking for a Full Time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to work with Dr. Meddleton Monday-Thursday averaging approximately 8-12 hour days. The employee would be working hands-on with horses, assisting with physical exams, jogging a lot for lameness exams, prepping for joint injections, cleaning sheaths, restraining horses, inventory management, lab work, surgical instrument sterilization, driving a lot, cleaning a lot, and administering medications.
Horse handling experience and a comfort level working with horses of all types and degrees of cooperation is essential. Heavy lifting and hard work in suboptimal conditions is expected on a daily basis. A clean legal record, good driving record, and clean drug tests required. While the primary duties will be Vet Tech related, the employee will be expected to assist in whatever is needed in the practice from reception to cleaning to helping with vehicles.
Several times per year there will be a spay/neuter day on Labradoodle puppies raised by Dr. Meddleton and his family.
