We are looking to add an energetic, caring doctor to our 4.5 doctor multiple location small animal practices! Our patients are mostly dogs and cats, but we do a small number of exotics also. We are able to do many procedures in house with digital radiography, ultrasound, laser surgery, laser therapy, endoscopy, Mi-Eye Needle arthroscopy, and in house Idexx lab. Dental procedures are done with an Ultima 500 machine which has high power drilling for surgical extractions. We perform many surgical procedures beyond spays and neuters (fracture repairs, ocular procedures, suture CCL repairs in small patients) that can be taught, if you have an interest in surgery. With electronic records, we are never searching for files, and our ability to serve our clients is enhanced. We stay current with newer available therapies and will be adding PRP to our offered services in 2018. We support one another on cases and act as a team to provide the best care to our patients. Our goal is to grow as veterinary practitioners while providing excellent care. If you want to grow in your skills - medical, surgical, and client communication - come join us!
Vacation time can be spent in the surrounding mountains; historical northern VA or Washington, DC; or beaches - all available as a day trip. Hiking, canoeing, rafting, and other outdoor sports are readily available within a day. Shopping, site-seeing, and fine dining are easily found as well. You can enjoy being near the city while not suffering through the traffic of living in one.
We offer retirement plans, paid vacation, health care, continuing ed stipend, and a competitive salary. We have found that when our doctors are supported, they are able to do their best work and compassionate care.
About Compassion Animal Hospital
Compassion Animal Hospital has been established for over 30 years in rural Fauquier County, VA. We enjoy providing veterinary care for mostly dogs and cats, but see the occasional pocket pet, rabbit, and chicken as well. We have many diagnostic tools to help us with their care (digital radiography, ultrasound, small endoscopes, Mi-Eye arthroscope, and In-House Idexx Lab for example). Our goal is to develop excellent practitioners and to support one another as we strive to help those animals and clients who come our way. We support our community with career days and sponsorship of events as well as encouraging the next generation of veterinarians with volunteers and "shadowing" students. We value quality of life and life balance. Working hard is a given in veterinary medicine, but it is important to "get away" to refresh and renew in order to be more sharp and compassionate when working. Our standards are high, but growing professionally and personally is rewarding.
