About Shoals Area Veterinary Emergency Hospital
The Shoals Area Veterinary Emergency (SAVE) Hospital developed in December 2012 as a collaboration between local veterinarians determined to provide our clients and area pets consistent, compassionate after hours care. We are currently managed by a board of eight veterinarians representing five different practices in Colbert and Lauderdale counties. An emergency with your pet can be a stressful event any time of day, and we are dedicated to having a team ready and waiting to treat your pets when your regular veterinarian's office is closed.SAVE Hospital has three full-time staff veterinarians that share the responsibility of your pet's care. Doctors from member practices also provide weekend and holiday coverage as needed. We have a staff of well-trained veterinary nurses able to triage, assist, and manage critical cases throughout the long hours when your regular veterinary hospital is not available. Our hospital is fully equipped with a laboratory able to provide blood testing and sample analysis critical to diagnosing and treating your pet during an emergency. We also offer radiology (x-rays) and surgical services as needed. Our team of ER doctors and nurses will work to stabiliz...e and manage your pet without having to wait until your regular veterinarian is available. The care of your pet will then be transferred back to your veterinarian for ongoing treatment or follow-up.Our current shareholders include area veterinarians committed to providing this valuable emergency service to pet owners in the Shoals. While we never wish our clients to need emergency care, we are extremely blessed to know they will be well cared for by our team at SAVE hospital. Thanks for checking out our practice!
