VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital is seeking experienced and highly motivated registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants for various specialty and emergency departments in our well-established, AAHA-accredited, 24 Hour Emergency, Specialty and General Practice Hospital. We are a very busy doctor teaching hospital located just minutes from the beautiful beaches of Santa Monica.
We are currently located in a brand new 42,000 sq foot state-of-the art building. We have many exciting and challenging departments within the hospital which offer many career opportunities for different individuals.
The ideal candidate needs to be a team player who is friendly, outgoing, compassionate, people-oriented and has excellent communication and client service skills. Applicants must also be able to work with various different personalities and be flexible with their schedule. Applicants must have a positive attitude, be hard working, self motivated, able to multitask, and want to be a part of a team environment. All candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays and have a flexible schedule.
You must be able to take initiative in case management and work well without direct supervision. Our busy hospital is one of the largest veterinary hospitals in the country and is equipped with state of the art monitoring and diagnostic equipment. We place high value on a close knit work environment and emphasize continuing education. Our hospital is also staffed with board certified veterinarians in many specialty departments, including Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Behavior and Physical Therapy.

Applicants will be responsible for the care and treatment of unstable and/or critically ill patients; triaging emergency patients; monitoring hospitalized pets; performing patient tests; treatments and nursing care; catheter placement, blood draws, radiology, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and pharmacy.
