Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty is a 24 hour emergency and specialty practice. We are currently searching for a Veterinary Hospital Practice Manager to help us organize and manage our growing practice. CVPM certification is desirable. The PM will work closely with the practice owners to provide a variety of advisory, supervisory, evaluative, administrative and technical functions with staff and clients.. Responsibilities and Duties •Designs, implements, maintains staff and procedures for handling of emergency client and patient flow / ICU operating procedures. •Oversees group of shift supervisors. •Works with the practice owners to develop improve client services and flow. •Liaises with general practitioners, technicians, customer service representatives and other practice employees to ensure they have the necessary support •Oversees daily emergency room / staff operations. •Recruits, trains, retain support staff including assistants and technicians. •Interacts with clients in support of practice philosophy and mission statement. •Addresses client communications on phone or via in-hospital visits. •Monitors practice's progress in meeting industry targets •Monitors hours/time cards of emergency department employees •Monitors and manages emergency department PTO. •Works with technician supervisors to develop optimal schedules for employees. •Conducts performance evaluations for emergency department staff.
The successful Practice Manager applicant will display strong organizational, team building, decision making and problem solving skills. They should be able to multi-task and work with personnel of a variety of ages, experiences and attitudes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential. They should be both detail and customer service oriented and be a team player as well as possess the ability to work independently as needed. Good computer skills and knowledge of practice management software is important. Previous experience in a veterinary emergency hospital as a certified veterinary technician or equivalent is preferred but someone with management experience will be considered.
